This gauge was given to me from my dad. When my grandfather passed away, my father's family decided to divy up the lot and hand it out to the respective family members. My dad gave this to me and said that my grandfather wanted me to have it.
Now, for the longest time, I kept trying to remember why the fuck I got this gauge. I mean, it was a cool gauge and I was happy that my grandpops thought of me but for the life of me, I have NEVER touched this thing in my entire life.
So it sat on my bookcase in my bedroom collecting dust. It survived the move into my first house and lived there, in a box for six+ years. Then, one day I probably looked at it with uncaring eyes while cleaning my room and tossed it into a crate to go into my storage unit. There it sat for two long summers in the un-air conditioned heat until today. I opened up boxes for two long laborious hours looking for this fucking thing. I deserve a got damn medal for my tenacity in well, I'll be honest, conditions not fit for human survival.
To set the record straight, I never had a great relationship with my grandfather. Hell, I don't think anyone did. We never saw each other for longer than a week every five or so years so for what it's worth, I guess we were fine with each other haha
He built the house he lived in for his familys entire life with his bare hands and was a county sheriff and a father of four. He was semi-rascist (to my knowledge as a 12 year old calling women dames and broads), was a total gearhead and could make oil caps from the top of a coke can and a ziptie. Not only owned a VW notchback and a 1200 but a PRISTINE Datsun Z which I got to drive to Disneyworld when I had just turned 16. Lastly and most importantly, he stored what seemed to be thousands of ice cold cases of Cherry Coke in a fridge in his garage.
*12 year old Jason* HE HAD A FRIDGE IN HIS GARAGE!!! GENIUS!
Anyways, not to get all sappy and sentimentalhere but I'm gonna put it in Roxy in one way or another. I dunno why, just seems like the right thing to do and may add a little bit of churchin' up to the old girl. This gauge resided in the plane my grandfather flew at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.
I decided to work on Roxy last night to blow off some steam and in doing so, decided to just work on her with the parts I already had in my possession. There is a TON of detail work that needs to be done so why not do that now and hopefully in the coming weeks, we will finally get back on track with the more important things...
After my run in with Johnny Law over the weekend, I decided to make everything legal on her by stripping the laminex off her headlights, installed the front plate with the help of a MK2 under bumper mounting bracket (no holes yay!), installed the rear plate (man a US plate looks goofy on a MK3 euro hatch) and finally installed the seatbelts with some vintage airplane belts I found a few months back. The passenger seat latch spring(?) broke and I can no longer move the seat forward POOP! so now I need to add that to the list of things to fix.
The only thing left to do is wire up the hatch properly so the plate lights and sollenoid work properly.
I decided to install the battery as well just to get that out of the way although there is a ton of work left to do with it in terms of wiring up the volt meter and cut off switch. Still haven't decided how I want to mount all of those so we will see. At least the new battery is finally being put to use and looks pretty damn sexay if ya ask me.
I wanted the battery to be held down the old fashioned way via a leather strap which would date back to the Speedster racing days so off to ebay I went. After hunting around for a proper leather tie-down, I found some repros for Porsche 356's that cost close to 400$ bucks!!! Man, if I ever get to the point of where that is a decent price to pay for a leather strap, feel free to kick me in the nuts repeatedly.
Then I thought about the ex-gf and how we used to take care of horses back in the day and it hit me... off to the tack shop Kate and I went to pick up some stirrup leathers =) I picked up a pair for around 20 bucks (nice price savings eh?) and decided they were way too new looking so I broke out the sander and got busy.
Before
After a bout with the sander and some brown show polish to antique it a bit:
Went to depot to pick up some pipe clamps and drilled and died some holes (be careful not to drill into the gas tank of course)...
Viola, all tied down:
And finally wired up:
And just as a little teaser (does actually showing the wheels still count as a teaser?) that I got in the mail yesterday. 100 bucks shipped! Not bad for a set of OEM steelies. Got some cool plans for these ;)
Hey all, update time. I got a call at work yesterday from my "financial advisor" (read: debt fixer person) and it was kind of suggested that I clear up an issue with one of my last outstanding student loans post haste. What does that have to do with cars you ask? Well, the clearing up cost me close to $2700 bucks. Yeah... I was pretty much nauseated for the rest for the rest of the day after writing that check.
That being said, the kicker of it all was that I ordered my turbo kit on friday. Thank christ the man I ordered from couldn't get to it because that would have put me up shits creek with no paddle in sight. So, suffice it to say, the buildup of Roxy is now being put on hold indefinately.
Why? Well, here goes...
Right now, she only needs the following to be finished: - paint (requires new window and seals plus materials to be paid for) - engine swap (will need fluids and random stuff to complete plus I want to pay my friend for his time)
The biggest lesson I have learned with this project is that EVERYTHING is connected. Yes, the turbo would be nice buuut if I get a turbo, it would behoove me to put the turbo on while the engine is being swapped. And you can't really swap the engine until the turbo kit is ordered. And you can't paint a car without painting the bay and you can't paint a bay until the engine is out. Get it?
So the best option I have now is to just sit and wait. Sure it sucks because right now I have a wet sanded car sitting in my driveway so something has to be done soon or the car will be a pile of rust after a few good rainstorms.
Hopefully I can pickup some emergency freelance to get some extra funds but for right now, no more cash will be spent on Roxy as I need to set aside all of my available cash for the purchase of a house.
Sometimes it sucks making adult decisions but I'm sure you will all agree that this is the right one being made. Better to be unstressed than to go into debt and worry about money I suppose.
This weekend was an odd one. For the first time in a good 2 or 3 years we had a car show and didn't do ANYTHING for the car in terms of making the mad dash to get something cleaned or put the last few touches on something before the show. And it was pretty damn nice =)
Saturday, god decided to make it 119º out so what did we do? Hang out on a black parking lot at NGP's open house in Lorton. The heat was too much so Kate and I took off to go home and nap and get out of the heat. On the way home, Virginia's finest nabbed me on the tollroad and gave me yet another ticket while driving Dara. Oh well. Gotta seriously stop driving too fast. Live and l... whatever. haha
Saturday night we decided to whore out Roxy for the carshow so I laid out some painters tape and cut out the URL for the hood. Who needs a vinyl sticker cutter right?
Sunday we woke up bright and early to head out to the show where it was 154º out yet again. The show was calm and relaxing albeit the intense heat but all in all, it was a fun day. Got to meet some fans of the blog which was nice (Hi Will *waves*) and we even saw a Golf Country! (and a crappy repro Spyder which was being sold for waaaay too much haha) I picked up a sweet fuel gauge from a 57 Speedster which I'll have to make use for in Roxy some how =) We covered the windows with newspaper just so no one could peek in to give it some showman flair to build anticipation haha
Monday was spent being lazy, saw a movie with kate, moped around the house and finally decided to go grab some food late in the day where I got ANOTHER ticket for no front plate in Roxy. He tried to give me a ticket for the europlate (even though it was 30 years old and from S. Korea), ride height (which was legal), no turns (had to explain they were in the air ducts) as well as my yellow laminex (it was day time hence being legal) but I held my ground and defended each and every little thing he was trying to get me for and got off with a warning for everything but the plate. Fucking cops and holiday weekends =(
I went home pissed off yet again and chalked it up to the old addage "you gotta pay to play" and just decided to call it a day. I got really bored around 6 so I decided to re-cover the interior pillars YET AGAIN and shot some pics along the way. For those of you who missed it, the pillars were covered in green months ago but kate and I decided to make everything black on the interior as to not add too many colours to the interior.
Yeah I know, it was hard to strip these hahaha
Trust me, they're green...
I shed a little tear doing this.
Decided to shave the seatbelt holes while I was there
Viola, two hours later and I was done, hopefully for the last time being how this is the third time I've done this.
Alright, so it's a definate that there will be a quick Q&A session with the head honchos over at C2 so get your questions into me! The response from you guys have been great so far so keep it coming!
So, one more night of prep work. My arms are completely gone now and this whole ordeal has really proved to me that a) I'm a pussy and b) I'm really out of shape.
The roof was completely gone with faded paint and crusty clearcoat so Bubb's hooked it up with the air sander and used 120 grit to get rid of the crappy clearcoat (or what was left of it).
Then we were introduced to the shop mascot bird who I was told just chills out and watches people work all day long in his nest.
Then this rolled up. Supposedly it's the fastest CLK in the world. Nice 8 grand worth of wheels hahaha
And lastly, before it got dark, we fitted the eurohatch on. This is going to be a bitch as I am choosing not to run the rear lock (as I don't have a key for it anyways) and will have to find a solution for the hatch popper solenoid to work. Bubba also mentioned that he wanted to shave the rear wiper on it so we will see. I wouldn't mind doing it but I don't want to press my luck of free services here at the shop.
This weekend is bugout in VA so I'll be spending more time prepping Rox for paint in the coming week(s) but more importantly, Kate and I will be getting some much needed relaxation. This car really is coming together now but I have to continually keep telling myself not to get obsessed and that there are more important things out there in my life... namely kate.
Have a great weekend everyone! If yer local, see ya on sunday =)
Ok, first and foremost... my arms are FUCKING BEAT. I felt like a parapalegic when I woke up this morning to shut off the alarm... yeah, that just didn't work =)
Went to bubb's last night to finally start the bodywork on roxy.
Here are the obligitory "before" shots for all of posterity. They will also show a good record for me if this whole thing turns into a clusterfuck as I once had a nice car before all of this haha
(special thanks to the champagne of all beers on the roof for getting me through the night...)
Then bubba raised up his coils a few turns so he wouldn't keep ripping his fenders off *winks*
Then we got to business once everyone had left for the evening. He started with 500 wet sanding grit. Wrap the paper around a few paint sticks so you haver a flat sanding surface or you can use a flexible sanding wedge that is similiar to a bondo spreader. Now, the key is to never use your fingers but instead use the butt of the base of your fingers so you don't get trails.
Don't press hard here and ALWAYS keep everything wet. The key here is to make the paint look like flat paint with no clearcoat. The white residue on the car is ALL clearcoat and that's what yer trying to get rid of.
Just to prove that I do my own work too. Plus I like my shorts so if you have a problem, you can eat my arse. I tried to get new shorts this past weekend but I was so excited in purchasing new gear, I got the wrong size. Bygones... hahaha
It started to get dark so I called it quits for the night as I couldn't really see what I was doing anymore. But looking at Roxy makes it all worth while... WHO'S A PRETTY GIRL!?
Went to Bubbas with toolbox and respirator in tow and he had already left for the night. Poop. Chalk it up to poor communication I suppose. I spent the time last night stripping Rox for paint and removed all of the door panels and trim inside the car and loaded up the euro hatch as well.
On a brighter note, I wrote a pre-emptive message to the boys at C2 Motorsports and they are interested in doing some Q&A sessions for the blog! So get your questions together folks. Anything and everything is fair game. I'm hoping this will shed some light on the mysterious aftermarket turbo setup I know alllll of you are dying to dip into.
Been a slooow week regarding cars so my apologies for the lack of updates. Spent the entire weekend cleaning the house now that the roomie has parted ways. The house is SPOTLESS so I'm fairly psyched about that.
Had cabin fever saturday night after a full days of cleaning so I crawled into the Rox's hatch and installed the autotech strutbar. I really didn't think it would help that much but dude... I pulled my first three wheel salute that night and man, that totally made my month. Nothing like taking a corner too fast and feeling the ass-end pop up and then catch on the ground again =)
Brought it over to Merchants to get aligned and as a lil tip for all you coil owners, ask for the yearly alignment package which is only 19 bucks more and you can get unlimited alignments for one whole year. He thought he was getting me for that extra cash but little does he know I'll bring Rox by every time I raise or lower her for shows/snow *giggles*
Drove by Bubba's shop today during lunch and tomorrow we plan to start on paint so I'll def. have loads of stuff to share soon. Spoke with Brad Beardow at http://www.b-p-design.com and the turbo should be getting ordered quite soon *double giggles*
Eric at Craftsman totally came through. I got a call at 6:45 this morning and i was like "WTF? WHO IS CALLING ME"... and let it go to message. Eric had called to tell me the seats were ready so I sat in bed wondering if I should get up early, go get seats to surprise Kate when she got home? Or do I just go back to bed.
45 minutes later I was talking to eric about how much he ruled, picked up the seats and I was then back to work.
(sidenote... eric was working on this to make it more comfortable hahaha 10,000$ electric car that got .2¢ a mile and was considered a motorcycle haha So goofy.
Anyhoo, rushed home to install these fuckers with a very elated kate. Even though brown and black are such a faux pa, cot damn the brown will rock with the green =)
(Foam has to be sat in to stretch out the fabric...) Popo zao!
Macaroni: hey man I got an idea for wheels jkrewdotcom: shoot Macaroni: okay, you know how you have a motorcycle theme right? I mean it's your idea jkrewdotcom: yessir Macaroni: alright, so we take 4 mini-bikes. Rebuild them like that jap-dude you love. Then we attach the axles to the minibike so it drives the rear wheels of the minibikes and steers the front wheel. So you have 8 wheels with 4 steering and 4 powering. so your car is rollin around on 4 mini-bikes.... that'd be SOOO PIMP jkrewdotcom: HAHAHA BRILLIANT!!! Macaroni: and you could even keep the engines in them in case you wanted 200ccs of extra displacement jkrewdotcom: YUESSS what about the banshee bikes?! 4 nitro burnin banshee bikes on 22's Macaroni: hmm, that's kind of extreme the minibikes would probably tuck better under the coilovers jkrewdotcom: haha I have always wanted to make a car powered by a team of kittens pulled on a dogsled harness but not just a dozen kittens but like 100 kittens in unison Macaroni: kittens? Kittens can hardly open their eyes. They'd have to be pumped full of pig growth hormones, stabbed in their pituitary gland (for freshness), and given steroids. But roid-kittens pulling a car would be pretty hawt. I bet Marylyn Manson would agree. jkrewdotcom: I dunno man... the key is the cuteness. I mean, anyone can biometrically merge kittens with robotics to create what I like to call a super kitten or mechitten™ for short. How many people do you know who has the patience and will to train 100 kittens to march in unison as well as pulling close to 45000x their weight? Macaroni: true I guess, but who has the time? jkrewdotcom: I bet I can make my vision a reality by summer 2010 if given the proper funding. I would need someone who can telepathically communicate with the kittens though. Maybe check out craigslist for that?
So in the never ending quest to find some damn wheels for Roxy, some folks over at American Racing gave me the email contact to (I'm guessing) Boyd Coddington's son Chris. He's a GM for Boyd which I'm assuming was sold to AR a few years back. It's kind of funny how my tastes in wheels have changed over the years as American Racing used to be king of the hill when import tuning started to make it's mark waaaay back in 94-95 and then slowly dropped to the bottom of the stacks for other jap-style makers to beat them out in terms of looks/style/price etc etc etc.
I'm still pretty sure the AR street cred is still lacking with folks like you and I but they sure do have some KILLER designs in their vintage series and now that they own Boyd's line or at least own the rights to the name, hopefully Boyds wheels can bring the name back to the top... I mean dude, check these out
These are SICK! Very close to work's look but just have a cleaner sharper edge. And all from the guy who practically inveted billet wheels.
Anyhoo, I'm getting away from the point. Even if he doesn't reply back, it's still cool to see how everything in the car world is sort of related. Here I am trying to find some damn wheels and I get to email the son of a legend to try and find them. Kinda cool in a roundabout way =)
Friday, after deciding the ole' relationship needed a tiny kick in the booty, kate and I went out for once (oh my god!) and took a trip to DC to have some HORRIBLE mexican food and then wandered around the national cathedral's gardens for some romantic goodness and crap (I only added "crap" to make this post more penis-centric baby, I swear...)
Saturday we took a trip back to jason's house to work on the stereo a bit and deliver a big ass japanese maple. Imagine a slammed dub cruising down the highway with a trunk full of tools, fuel cells and a tree that literally looks identical to a pot plant. Yeah good times =)
I brought my angle grinder to kill a few birds while I was down in the country as my dickhead of a neighbour has decided to narc me out if I even come remotely close to my car with a screwdriver nowadays so all of the heavy work has to be done elsewhere. God how I love condo nazis.
We removed the spare tire post to make room for the fuel cell...
Then I needed to devise a way to strap the sub down to the trunk but also keep it movable if I needed to move anything with the car (like it's going to be utilitarian once it gets painted haha) so I removed the seatbelt guides from the B-pillar and used them as strap guides instead.
The biggest issue was drilling into the floor as an ugly gas tank sat directly below the sheet metal. "Well, wouldn't the screw essentially "close" the hole if I drilled into it? I mean, how much gas would come out with a tiny screw hole right?" I said with the shaking dissaproval of Kate. "Oh well, I guess we can get jason to weld it..."
Grind grind grind
And finally welded the last strap guide down
Then we moved onto the amp install. I bought most of the audio fairly quickly months ago as I was offered a really nice deal from Tweeter buuut forgot that this project we moved up to a 10" sub but stuck with the same amp we used with our MK2 buildup. The sub is a dual voicecoil 10" @ 4ohms. The amp is bridgable to a mono setup @ 4ohms. Sadly if I ran the sub in parallel it would drop the sub down to 2 ohms and the amp just can't go that low. Doh. Oh well. And the worst part about it is that the damn MK3 seats are way low and scratched the shit out of the amp face after install. Poop no returns for me.
Thhhhen we moved onto the exhaust pipes. I want to shave the rear bumper cutout and if I did, the exhaust pipes would hit the new plastic I'd weld in so the tips had to go!
One would think a cut-off wheel would work right?
Nah.
How about a Sawzall?
Nope. So we removed the rear subframe bumper thing and used an industrial cutoff wheel. Now that's some quality work right there *winks*
Lastly on sunday I decided to install the sub while kate was doing her own thing (still haven't fired it up though boo!). As the sub would be downfiring, I needed to raise it up a bit off the floor to get the air out.
So I made some feet for it and sealed everything up after adding some baffling...
Try to wach Spiderman I this weekend and then come back, being a car guy/gal, and tell me the two things I got totally pissed off about in the first 90 minutes of the movie.
But, the infamous Carey Lair could quite possibly be getting us a sponsor. I really really REALLY hope it comes through because then we can rock out with the engine swap sooner rather than later (as we're still waiting to see if we can get that damn turbo).
See that link up there in the top right? Yeah, click on it. Why? Well, here's the deal... baby wants a turbo and what baby wants, baby gets. Well, for argument's sake, when I refer to the term "baby", I really mean "me". And by "me", I mean "kate and I".
We've been calling the kind folks at Kinetic Motorsport for a few weeks now but well, it just seems like those cats are hella busy making fun toys to call us back soooo.... we have this thing called a budget and we're sticking to it so we're selling some art for you to enjoy/purchase boatloads of.
If Kinetic wants to sponsor us, we will give 100% of the funds sold to the non-profit breast cancer fund crittersforthecure.com which helps uninsured women with the financial gaps in treatment not covered by standard federal and state health assistance programs.
What's the art about? Well, there is was a drag strip in Maryland called 75 & 80 which is right on the corner of routes 75 and 80... duh. Well, anyhoo, after being open for a gazillion years, it shut down last summer and I just so happened to be there on the very last day it was open to shoot some photos.
The prints can either be printed on archival gloss or matt paper stock with UV-resistant inks so you'll be able to peep these for years to come. All are in a limited signed run of 50 each and won't be printed again. I've never sold any of my work before so this is a pretty special thing for both Kate and I.
Prints are 20$ bones a pop but I'll give ya 3 for 50$. Shipping is included too! So click on that link and start buying folks!
If there just so happens to be an independently wealthy/start-up business owner who reads this site and wants us to sell out for you so we can buy a turbo kit, well then, we have to get together soon and talk.
We have the opportunity to grab a sweet deal on a kit but well, of course that sweet deal is still a bit out of reach for our budget and we would just love it to pieces to advertise for you on our site or tat your name on our boobies or something.
Opertators are standing by!
Yeah, we're shameless but who cares. We love you just the same, sponsorship or not =)
Sunday we had to shoot a 10K race in DC at 6 in the morning (SIX AYE EM!!! ugh) so when we got out of there at 10ish, we raced home and took a nap for a few hours to try and warm up which never happened so we decided to go for a drive out to Jason's house to see what was going on.
Jason was doing a number of things to some buddies cars so kate and I decided to finally install the battery relocate kit I got a few months back to lighten up the front end now that we removed the rear seats to distribute weight a bit more.
For this job, you will need to purchase two stereo distribution blocks as the MK3 battery terminals have multiple wires running to them as well as the main ground and power leads that ground to the chassis and connect to the starter/alternator respectively.
Start with removing the washer bottle and battery (don't lay the battery on the ground as it will drain the battery because it is grounded duh (thanks clint!))
Then, remove the battery tray by unbolting a few bolts as well as loosening the power steering bottle with a hex key. We are removing the washer bottle entirely with this project so be sure to keep the plug and sensor wire connected as not to get a CEL.
Use the distribution blocks to wire up what was connected to the battery. Ground the ground block to a factory ground under the tray and wire up the power wires the same way running the power lead through the firewall and up the side of the car under the door sills.
Last pic showing the semi final solution as we will be running an Optima Red Top in the rear of the car with hidden wires (obviously).
Viola.
After we were done with that and the car started without blowing up, we went in to check on Jason who was pulling some arches on a friends nasty Evo.
That was done so when everyone was taking a breather, we saw this:
And then saw these:
And then did this:
And this is with four more glorious inches to go down. Wheeeeeee!
The bad part of the install was that I wasn't aware that if you run coils on a MK3, you need spacers for the rear... Yeah, um, we didn't have spacers with us so we did what anyone would do, we fabbed up a jerry rig that nearly killed us (we drove slow mom, don't worry...)
We rounded up all of the spare spacers in the garage and slapped on a 5 and 2mm on each side and borrowed a friends MK4 wheels that had a better offset and finally we could rotate the wheel without rubbing and took a really sloooooow ride home. Tonight I'll add the 12mm spacers with approved longer bolts to make everything road worthy.
Special thanks to Jason who rocked out the suspension job at 6pm after busting his ass all day on everything else. I love my crew =)
Man, it's been a KILLER week. The jobby was whupping on muh booty like mad (what fucking language am I speaking this morning?!) with 2 full days of CSS training (woohoo! haha whee) and kate had her first real-deal photo gallery so most of our free time was spent doing other things. Preparing to move out of our condo and then not moving out, making amends with the parental units (thank you ALL for the kind words, support from both sides etc etc etc... this buildup blog is worth it's weight in gold simply with the viewers it has =)
Soooo, this weekend was spent cleaning up the house, relaxing and trying to get back to the normal pace of things. Saturday we... well, lets back up to some excellent info... last Wednesday, Kate and I took off work a bit early after I got out of training to drop off our seats to a place called Craftsman Upholstery (no website yet and yet is the operative word here... I'll link it up as soon as I finish making it in the coming weeks as I have loads of other prior obligations.)
So yeah, we dropped off the super duper rare seats we picked up from a fellow worker bee a month or so ago. These are called Recaro Othopaed's. I have NEVER seen then in my life so hopefully people at the upcoming shows will get a kick out of them. Basically, the seats are FULLY adjustable. And when I say fully, there are close to 12 different movable parts to the seats. Each section can move in/out up/down etc but the bad thing is, is that they are 20 years old and rotted like crazy. They are in decent shape but needed to be reupholstered so that's where Eric at Craftsman came in.
I found him with a google search and a few days later we met for the first time. He is as oldschool as they come and ever after trying to hock a website for trade, his reasoning of "F*** email. Screw phone calls. If you want to deal with me, see me in person!" so yeah, he's way OG =)
He gave me his opinions on the seats and kate and I finally decided on a black and grey combo for the seats.
We both drove home in our separate cars and after 15 minutes of driving I texted her stating my uneasiness with the final color combo. I knew Eric wanted the seats to look killer but maybe he was going to make them look too killer? I was noticing while driving Roxy (the MK4) that her interior was obviously cracked and not perfect after 7 years of driving and that if we had brand new seats in Roxy, they would be totally out of place right? I am finding that the more we work on Roxy, the more I have to continually remind myself of what our original plan is and that we have to stick with said plan or the look will be way too complicated with the combo of a bazillion different ideas.
Soooo, first thing in the morning, I called eric up and said to put a hold on the order and that I would be there after work later that night. Kate met me over there and we took a new swatch book into the car and just threw ideas off one another. What the aged leather would look like with the green of the body panels etc etc and then decided on two things... one, we were going with a new color combo as well as new a leather brand AS WELL AS the fact that we now had to recover the A/B/C pillars ONCE MORE to lose the green that we had from the first recover. Too many colors in the car would be goofy as hell.
Sadly, the reason we recovered the panels in green was that the denim we used for the headliner was far too think for the panels and that we picked green as that was the only suitable fabric that we found that stretched.
Obligatory kate booty shot...
On Saturday we drove out to the fabric store to find a black but nothing matched the denim out of close to 100 different options. SHIT! So we hoped back in the car and drove the exact direction to one more store 50 miles away and after an hour of searching we finally found fabric that matched and stretched as well!
So yeah, that's where we are as of now. Seats will be done in a few weeks, we'll recover the pillars to make the interior all black and well, that's it =)
