Miagi say, sand the roof
So, one more night of prep work. My arms are completely gone now and this whole ordeal has really proved to me that a) I'm a pussy and b) I'm really out of shape.
The roof was completely gone with faded paint and crusty clearcoat so Bubb's hooked it up with the air sander and used 120 grit to get rid of the crappy clearcoat (or what was left of it).

Then we were introduced to the shop mascot bird who I was told just chills out and watches people work all day long in his nest.

Then this rolled up. Supposedly it's the fastest CLK in the world. Nice 8 grand worth of wheels hahaha

And lastly, before it got dark, we fitted the eurohatch on. This is going to be a bitch as I am choosing not to run the rear lock (as I don't have a key for it anyways) and will have to find a solution for the hatch popper solenoid to work. Bubba also mentioned that he wanted to shave the rear wiper on it so we will see. I wouldn't mind doing it but I don't want to press my luck of free services here at the shop.

This weekend is bugout in VA so I'll be spending more time prepping Rox for paint in the coming week(s) but more importantly, Kate and I will be getting some much needed relaxation. This car really is coming together now but I have to continually keep telling myself not to get obsessed and that there are more important things out there in my life... namely kate.
Have a great weekend everyone! If yer local, see ya on sunday =)

Man, I wish to christ I'd had Bubba do my paint. Looks like he really takes his time to do it right. That by-hand wetsanding you posted the other day friggin' blew my mind. Dude who painted my car really did a half-assed job.
I thought about asking Bubba to do my paint, but I hadn't known him long at that point, and he was in the middle of finishing his own car for H2O anyway. :(
Good dude, though.
